The general engineering and applied sciences department forms the initial soil for any of the B.Tech degree courses. The first year of engineering education comprises of Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Drawing, Fundamentals of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Computer fundamentals and programming and Technical Communication and Social Skills. Mechanical and electrical workshops and C programming lab forms the practical testbed for the budding engineers.
